Carpet | Soft Luxury
Hard surface flooring has certainly dominated recent flooring trends. We’ve seen many beautiful new styles, and innovative products added to the flooring market in the last several years. Still, nothing beats carpet when it comes to adding warmth, comfort, and coziness to a room.
Carpet manufactures have been working hard in the last while, developing new methods to improve the carpets they have to offer. We have been very impressed by recent advancements in carpeting lines that have improved carpet texture, durability, stain resistance, pet friendliness, and hypoallergenic options.
Both texture and durability have seen improvement through the development and addition of new fibres to the market, as well as improved construction of traditional fibres. We now see “shag” lines that resist compaction and wear nearly as well as cut pile; and cut pile that would give berber a run for it’s money. In reverse, we see berbers that offer a softness not seen in the past, cut piles that feel like fur between your toes, and shags that invite you to curl up right on them.
Two of the concerns we hear most often regarding carpet are staining or spotting, and allergens.
Carpet being bad for allergies is one of the largest misconceptions we hear. It is easy to assume that hard surface flooring would be more allergy friendly. However, depending on your allergy, this could be rather the opposite. Carpet flooring can actually trap dust and allergens within its fibres, keeping them from being released into the air circulating your home. The dust and allergens remain settled, waiting to be removed during your next vacuum. Alternately, with hard surface flooring, these dust and allergens sit on the surface of your floor and are stirred into the air with traffic and movement. We have one line of carpet that has been specifically developed to be hypoallergenic. We invite you to come take a look, and we will tell you all about it.
Stain resistance has been another primary improvement that manufacturers have made in carpet in recent years. The coating on the carpet fibres of most lines we offer, provides exceptional stain resistance. It will hold spills on the surface of the carpet and prevent anything from saturating into the carpet fibre itself. With proper care and maintenance, your carpet can look as good as new for many years. We can teach you how! We also offer spot removers that will work with the coating on your carpet versus against it. Again, if you’d like to know more, come on in! We will tell you all about it.
We have a large selection of both commercial and residential carpets in a full variety of styles, colours, and price ranges. We can’t wait to show them to you.
